Hello my Friends,
Last month I posted about our summer vacation and our time in and around Franconia Notch and at the beach in Seabrook, NH. It was about that time that the movie, "A Walk in the Woods" was coming out. My website has the same name, but I was unaware of the book. I had to read the book to see what that was all about. No offense to humorist, Bill Bryson, I am sure he is a nice man. I think
he is is from New Hampshire or at least lives up around the Dartmouth area. But, here is the real story.
I would like to introduce you to a real AT through hiker. His name is Donovan. That was all I got from him. My girl had a nice conversation with him and his gang of friends. His trail name was Jesus. When we met him in the Pemigewasset River he looked a lot like a white Jesus. He was as skinny as a rail and had a full black beard from not shaving for nearly five months. He and the group he was hiking with were nearly into Maine, and from what I understood, about 300 miles to the summit of Mt. Katahdin.
