Winter has finally grabbed us by the throat. Like you couldn't see that one coming. After a lovely fall and a mild January, the cold and snow has hit the fan. The last few weeks we had a few snowstorms, the day time temperatures were below freezing and the winds were
whipping through the trees. Tonight's forecast is below zero
temperatures and winds up to 30 mph. The wind chill will be minus 30
degrees. It is dangerously cold. So I suggest that you
take some time to light a fire, hunker down and stay warm with your
family. Turn off the TV. Read, listen to music. Make some music. Soon
enough the days will be longer, the sun will be warming us again and we will have survived another winter.
I wish you all a great February. Get
out in the woods when the weather allows. Get out on the pond to skate
if you can. Bring your phone out in the forest, but don't look at it
unless you have to. You might miss the owl, a Cooper's hawk or the beaver. See you all soon.
